Strategy
A vision to finally bring real results, real change!

Reform efforts have come and gone, as have government corruption investigations and yet, we are in worse shape than ever! Corruption, mismanagement and self-serving actions by numerous elected officials and their cronies have literally brought Illinois to the brink of ruin with billions in debt. ($13 billion and growing!!)

"Unlike California, Illinois cannot blame its budget woes on a particularly volatile revenue system or on outsize exposure to the housing bubble. Illinois's crisis is unique in that it is purely a creature of mismanagement by elected officials."

The Reclaim Illinois strategy to remedy this stupidity is:

To engage and challenge citizens and businesses around Illinois to participate honorably in the democratic process. At the same time, we seek to provide citizens with easy access to the vital knowledge of candidates and issues required to support and vote for the best options possible.

Currently we:

  • Conduct candidate research and grading starting with the Governor's race and working down.
  • Provide research results via the Reclaimillinois.com web site.
  • Conduct research on issues applicable to Illinois.
  • Development and distribution of informative fliers.
  • Encourage citizens to focused and informed action.
  • Encourage and invite student participation toward a greater understanding of the candidates, the processes and the history around corruption in state government for the purpose of creating better informed and engaged future young voters.

Depending on future funding we seek to:

  • Develop advanced features on the web site so that citizens can more easily access an increasing amount of comparitive information via computer and cell phone as well as receive automatic information updates via e-mail about the issues and candidates they are interested in.
  • Conduct research on MORE candidates and issues.
  • Print and distribute candidate comparisons to those without easy access to computers or the internet.
  • Employee people around the state to assist the effort.
  • Develop and run radio and TV ads around Illinois.
  • Place information in newspapers around Illinois.
  • Include students in research and educational activities.
  • Conduct good citizenship classes for high school and college students.

How the Victory can Come Together in 2010

Note, NOTHING IS FREE!!! Just as it takes candidates a great deal of effort and money to entice citizens to vote for them it will take a great deal of money provided through citizen and business support to engage and educate citizens with the facts.
